An email list helps you stay in touch with people interested in your work. Its value depends on relevant messages and your relationship with subscribers, not simply the number of addresses.
Give people a reason to subscribe
Offer a resource related to your subjects: a checklist, template or explained example. On the signup page, state what you will send and the planned frequency. Do not collect addresses obtained without permission or portray a signup as necessary for an unrelated action when it is optional.
Choose a tool and prepare the welcome
Check the provider’s pricing, limits, exports and unsubscribe features. Configure the sender and requested deliverability settings. The first email should deliver the promised resource and explain what readers will receive next.
Write from real questions
Develop one question per message with an example or action. Introduce a product when it fits the subject. Use only authorized testimonials and verifiable results. Match the schedule to the useful content you can prepare.
Measure useful outcomes
Track clicks, replies, signups and purchases attributable to the messages. Opens are an imperfect indicator, partly because of privacy mechanisms. Watch unsubscribes and complaints too. Compare similar periods and audiences.
Maintain the list
Make unsubscribing easy and respect the stated preferences. Review automated sequences regularly to fix outdated links and information. There is no guaranteed monthly income per subscriber: evaluate each offer and audience using their own data.
